Acorn War XXI had many fun activities, and great war scenarios, but it's all over now. However, the Shire is planning on next year being bigger, more exciting, and well, you'll just have to keep looking at these pages to read more about it. This page will have some galleries from 2010, and maybe even earlier Acorn Wars. Come back!
Date for 2012 is August 10-12.
The Shire of Mountain Edge (Yamhill County, OR), invites you to the 23rd friendly and fun Acorn War.
Armored and rapier fighters, archers and equestrians: prepare to show your skill in tourneys and the War. Mountain Edge Archery and Equestrian Defenders will be chosen at this event.
There will also be on site contests, classes and activities. Straw Into Gold and Scottish Rules Croquet, an A&S “village”, merchants row. Bring drinking water. Site opens at 12 noon on Friday (10AM for merchants), and closes at 6:00 pm on Sunday.
IMPORTANT: All sign an equestrian waiver at gate. This waiver must be signed by a minor’s parent or legal guardian. Please see the Acorn War Web site for forms and instructions.
NOTE: $5.00 NMS fee applies to all non-member adults.

Site: The Mortenson Ranch, 11175 Whiteaker Rd., Monmouth, OR 97338
Directions to Site: From the North: take Rte 99W south through Rickreall, OR. South of Rickreall turn right at Clow Corner Rd. (flashing yellow light). Take immediate left onto Riddell Rd. Turn right onto Whiteaker Rd (approximately 1.5 miles). Proceed 1.5 miles on Whiteaker (gravel) – site is on your right.
From the south take Rte 99W north through Monmouth, OR. North of Monmouth, turn left at Clow Corner Rd. (flashing yellow light) and proceed as above. SCA signs will be posted.

Draft schedule coming soon - Archery and Equestrian Defender tourneys and the main war scenarios will be held on Saturday, with other tourneys Sunday morning. The Viking longship and a Fire and Steel performance will occur Saturday evening.
